Claims about identity and national belonging have become an increasingly important feature of political debate and dynamics around the world in recent years.

This 3 week summer school, 3 - 20 July 2023, brings together experts from a range of disciplines and backgrounds to explore the nature and implications of such claims for contemporary politics. Through a combination of taught sessions and field trips, the programme offers an exciting opportunity to discuss these issues from a Welsh, British and international perspective.

The academic component will entail the completion of a 10 UK credit module (5 ECTS) including a journal, presentation, and a written assignment.  The programme will include trips and excursions as well as time to get to know the seaside town of Aberystwyth, home to the National Library of Wales.
