Das Value of Children and Intergenerational Relations Projekt

Das „Value of Children and Intergenerational Relations“ Projekt ist eine Replikation und theoretische sowie methodische Erweiterung der „Cross-national value of children studies“ (VOC Studien, 1970, University of Hawaii, Honolulu; z. B. Arnold et al., 1975).

Forschungsfragen:

(1) Einfluss sozio-ökonomischen Wandels auf Elternschaft, Werthaltungen, Erziehungsziele.

(2) Wechselwirkung von Werten, Eltern-Kind-Beziehungen, intergenerationale Unterstützung und Wertetransmission in drei Generationen. Integration interdisziplinärer entwicklungspsychologischer, soziologischer und kulturvergleichender Ansätze.

Stichproben:

(1) 300 Mütter von Kindern zwischen 2 und 5 Jahren für Vergleiche mit den Original VOC-Daten von vor 30 Jahren.

(2) 3-Generationen-Stichprobe: 100 Großmütter, 300 Mütter, 300 Jugendliche (zwischen 14 und 17 Jahren, 50% weiblich) der gleichen Familie. Beteiligte Länder u.a.: Korea, Indonesien, China, Israel, Türkei, Polen, Russland, Deutschland, Tschechei, Frankreich, Ghana, Indien, Süd Afrika, Japan, Taiwan, Jamaica (überwiegend mit Stichproben aus je einer urbanen und einer ländlichen Region). Bisher: 16.461 Teilnehmer aus 19 Ländern.

Analysen: (1) und (2) Kohortenvergleiche; Inter- und intrakulturelle Vergleiche; Multi-Level-Modelle.

Pilotstudie und Teile der Hauptstudie finanziert von der DFG.

Das Ziel des Projektes ist es zu einer interdisziplinären Analyse der Wechselbeziehungen zwischen VOC, individueller Entwicklung und Eltern-Kind-Beziehungen in sozio-kulturellen Veränderungen aus psychologischer Perspektive beizutragen.

Außerdem fand vom 16. -19.07.2017 ein Workshop in Warschau statt (IACCP).
