Funktion von Emotionen für prosoziales Verhalten und Sozialisationsbedingungen bei der Entwicklung pro- und antisozialer Motivation im Kulturvergleich

Funktion von Emotionen für prosoziales Verhalten

Hier wurde die Funktion von Emotionen für prosoziales Verhalten und die Veränderung dieser Funktion im Laufe der Entwicklung bei Kindern untersucht. Weitere Ziele waren, mögliche interindividuelle und situationsspezifische Differenzen in der Art und Ausprägung von Emotionen und im prosozialen Verhalten zu erklären, die Stabilität von Emotionen und prosozialem Verhalten im Entwicklungsverlauf, sowie Entwicklungsbedingungen für Ausprägung und Entwicklungsverlauf von Emotionen und prosozialem Verhalten zu untersuchen.

In kombinierten Längs- und Querschnittstudien wurden Kinder aus verschiedenen Altersgruppen und Kulturen (Japan, Indonesien, Malaysia, Israel) und ihre Müttern in Bezug auf die Rolle von Emotionen, Emotionsregulation und Empathie  für prosoziales Verhalten untersucht. Datenquellen waren neben Fragebögen und Interviews auch Verhaltensbeobachtungen in quasiexperimentellen Interaktionssituationen. Es zeigten sich überindividuelle Muster und individuelle und intraindividuelle Differenzen im Entwicklungsverlauf, in der prosozialen Motivation und in der hemmenden oder aktivierenden Funktion von Emotionen sowie in der Rolle von Empathie im Unterschied zu Distress und von sozialen Kognitionen (u.a. Selbstkonzept) für prosoziales Verhalten.

Im Zusammenhang mit dem Projekt "Entwicklung von Intentionalität und von Emotionsregulation" (siehe Projektliste) stellte sich die Frage, ob und inwieweit die Entwicklung von Intentionalität a) die Zusammenhänge zwischen Emotionen, altruistischen Intentionen und prosozialem Verhalten und b) die Entwicklung solcher Zusammenhänge erklären kann.

Sozialisationsbedingungen bei der Entwicklung pro- und antisozialer Motivation im Kulturvergleich

Hier wurden in zwei Projekten  Zusammenhänge zwischen kulturellen Werten, subjektiven Erziehungstheorien, elterlichen Erziehungszielen, individuellen Werthaltungen und der Entwicklung von pro- und antisozialer Motivation aus entwicklungspsychologischer und kulturvergleichender Sicht untersucht.

(a) Vergleiche zwischen ost- und westdeutschen Müttern, Kindern und Jugendlichen nach der Wende im Längsschnitt ergaben, dass bisherige theoretische Ansätze zur Wirkung familialer Sozialisationsbedingungen gemäß individualistischen und gruppenorientierten Kulturkontexten und unter Berücksichtigung der Wirkungen von sozialem Wandel auf diese Sozialisationskontexte zu differenzieren sind.

(b) In dem Projekt zu subjektiven Erziehungs- und Entwicklungstheorien im Kulturvergleich (Brasilien, Republik Korea, Deutschland) wurden zum einen inter- und intra-kulturelle Unterschiede in den Erziehungstheorien (u. a. Ziele, Attribuierungen) sowie die differentielle Funktion bestimmter Ziele und Strategien für die Entwicklung von Kindern nachgewiesen. Analysen von Zusammenhängen kulturspezifischer Sozialisationsbedingungen und der emotionalen Entwicklung von Kindern berücksichtigen sowohl interindividuelle Differenzen als auch situationsspezifische Bedingungen der Emotionsregulation.

Die Arbeiten zu a) Sozialisationsbedingungen im ost-west-deutschen Vergleich erfolgten im Rahmen des Schwerpunktprogramms der DFG "Kindheit und Jugend in Deutschland vor und nach der Wende - Entwicklungsbedingungen und Lebenslagen im Wandel"; die Arbeiten zu b) Kulturvergleich "Erziehungstheorien" erfolgten im Rahmen des TP 15 des SFB 511 (jeweils unter Leitung von Prof. Dr. G. Trommsdorff).
