Let´s grow together on the way to doctorate!
Pursuing a doctorate is more than just reading, collecting data and writing publications. We present our research results, take part in workshops and form contacts. Get an impression of our day-to-day research.
Acquisition of methodological expertise and early networking during the doctorate in interdisciplinary research projects.
We - doctoral students in the working group - are involved in current research projects of the working group. We benefit from the expertise in the projects and establish important contacts for our future network through interdisciplinary collaboration at an early stage.
DFG-Exzellenzcluster Centre for the Advanced Study of Collective Behaviour (CASCB)
The integration of our research project "Collective Appetite" into the Cluster of Excellence (CASCB) provides numerous opportunities to exchange ideas with other young scientists. At the retreats, we gain insights into neighbouring disciplines such as biology and computer science, have the opportunity to present our research results and talk to everyone about the research in the cluster.
Baden-Württemberg Institute for Sustainable Mobility (BWIM)
The integration of our research project "Why we move how we move" into the Baden-Württemberg Institute for Sustainable Mobility gives us regular opportunities to exchange ideas with the interdisciplinary team in workshops and to make new contacts.
Exchange with experts from the Scientific Advisory Board in "tandem" in SMARTACT
Young scientists in one-on-one discussions with members of the scientific advisory board at the kick-off meeting for SMARTACT in June 2015. At the kick-off meeting, the upcoming research work in the project was concretised and the foundations were laid for work hospitation, research visits and new project proposals.
Presentation and discussion of own research results at conferences
We regularly take the opportunity to present our research findings at specialist conferences and discuss them with the scientific community. Examples of conferences we have attended include Annual Conference of the European Health Psychology Society (EHPS), Congress of the German Psychological Society (DGPs) or the Scientific Congress of the German Nutrition Society (DGE).
Participation in workshops and involvement in committees
In order to expand and deepen our methodological expertise, we take part in workshops that often take place in the run-up to the conferences. When working in committees as representatives of young academics, we familiarise ourselves with academic structures and advocate for the interests of young academics.
