Compulsory internship in the 3-year BSc Psychology with the profile "Psychology" (examination regulations BPO 2021)

Compulsory internships are a central part of the curriculum. They help maintain and expand contacts with companies, clinics and outpatient facilities, psychological counselling centres as well as other institutions and organisations that practice psychology.

You usually complete your internship during the lecture-free period after the 4th semester. Depending on your interests, you can choose to do you internship in clinical psychotherapy or in other areas relevant to the profession or research.

Please note: If you are studying in the "Psychology" profile, you also need to complete the Supplementary Module Non-Psychology Required Electives.

Please note:

Students studying in the 3-year BSc Psychology with the profile "Psychology" can choose whether to complete the psychological internship (Module 17: Work Placement and/or Research Internship) or the psychotherapeutic internship (Module 18: Orientation Internship + BQT1) with 13 ECTS each.

IMPORTANT:

If you wish to qualify for the consecutive master's programme with a focus on Psychotherapy enabling further psychotherapeutic qualification, you need to complete Supplementary Module 21 "Psychotherapy" (restricted admission!), which, together with the clinical-psychotherapeutic internships (Module 18: Orientation Internship + Practical Professional Qualification I) fulfils the requirements of the licensing regulations (PsychThApprO) of the new Psychotherapists Act (PsychThG).
