Britta Renner provides policy advice through her involvement in scientific advisory boards. She has long been a member of the Scientific Advisory Council for Agricultural Policy, Nutrition and Consumer Health Protection WBAE. In 2023, she was also appointed to the Scientific Advisory Board of theGerman Bundestag citizens' council "Nutrition in Transition: Between Private Affairs and State Responsibilities" appointed by the German Bundestag.

On January 14, 2024, the German Bundestag citizens' council ‘Ernährung im Wandel’ ('Nutrition in Transition') published nine recommendations for the Bundestag. As a member of the Scientific Advisory Board, Britta Renner advised the German Bundestag citizens' council on the development of these recommendations.

Scientific Advisory Council for Agricultural Policy, Nutrition and Consumer Health Protection WBAE
Britta Renner has been involved in the Scientific Advisory Council for Agricultural Policy, Nutrition and Consumer Health Protection (WBAE) since 2015 and has been Deputy Chair of this interdisciplinary committee since 2018. The WBAE advises the Ministry on the development of its policy in the areas of agricultural policy, nutrition and consumer health protection, with participation in the committee taking place on a voluntary basis. The WBAE is independent and prepares expert opinions and statements on topics of its own choosing.
