FAQs regarding application and admission requirements

What are the admission requirements?

To qualify for the 2-year MSc Psychology, you need:
– A degree with a grade of 2.5 or better from a bachelor's programme of at least 3 years' duration at a state or state-recognized university or university of cooperative education in psychology or a degree equivalent to the bachelor's program in psychology at the University of Konstanz.
– Proof of participation as a test subject in psychological studies amounting to at least 20 hours.
– Occupational or research internships in the field of psychology totaling at least 10 weeks full-time or correspondingly extended duration if part-time. See the next section for more specific details.

The test subject hours and the internship must be completed at the time of application. Please note that meeting these requirements does not guarantee you a place in the programme, as only a limited number of places are available.

What are the requirements for the 10-week internship?

The internship must
– have been supervised by a psychologist with a diplom or master's degree in psychology
– correspond to a total workload of at least 10 weeks (approx. 390 working hours)
– be completed at the time of application

The internship can be
– either full-time (approx. 39 working hours per week) as

– exact details of the period of the internship and the hours worked

Mandatory internships completed abroad that meet the above requirements can generally be recognised.

My internship was shorter than 10 weeks, what can I do?

According to the admission statutes, proof of a 10-week internship in full-time (correspondingly longer if in part-time) is required at the time of application. You can thus only apply if you can provide a qualified internship certificate for a 10-week full-time internship at the time of application.
